Any junior or senior interested in public policy or educational issues is invited to apply and be considered to represent University High School on the Irvine Unified Council PTA sponsored Student Sacramento Trip. The selected UNI students along with UNI's advocacy student representative will accompany other students from the district.
The trip is on March 22nd, 2023.
There will be six MANDATORY meetings prior to the trip to discuss the issues and prepare.
The meeting dates are on:
Wednesday Feb 8
Wednesday Feb 15
Wednesday Feb 22
Wednesday Mar 1
Wednesday Mar 8
Wednesday Mar 15 - University High School
Each school will host one panel discussion. Traditionally, Uni always hosts that last panel discussion.
Click here for a short video that Tony Zeng from IHS made about 2016's trip.
Uni will select 6 students (including the student leader) to participate. Costs will cover travel, supplies, transportation and meals while in Sacramento.
Bellow are two different student applications. First is the general application that everyone needs to fill out. The program is open to juniors and seniors only. The second application is for returning seniors interested in being the Student Lead for the school. As in prior years, please note that PTSA parents will not be involved in the decision process – the delegation selection is done solely by the school administration. While students do not need to be PTSA members to apply, they will need to be a student PTSA member should they be chosen to go.
